Florida Gas Line Contractor License

A Florida Gas Line Contractor (SCC) is a contractor whose scope of work is limited to installation, modification, alteration, testing, repair and maintenance of natural gas transmission systems and natural gas distribution systems with all appurtenances within rights-of-way, easements, or terminating at meter.

Florida Gas Line Contractor Exams

The Florida Gas Line Contractor Examination in Florida consists of a Business and Finance and Trade Knowledge exam. You have to pass BOTH parts of the Gas Line Contractors exam and meet the minimum experience requirements to activate the Gas Line Contractor license. Both parts of the Gas Line Contractor exam are administrated as computer-based exams. The total examination fee for first time licensees is $295.

Gas Line Trade Knowledge Exam

This 5 hour, 80 question open book examination covers topics such as General Knowledge, Testing and Code Compliance, Taps and Connections, Pigging and Purging, Maintenance, Welding and Fusion, Safety, Excavation, Equipment, Materials, and Location and Investigation. Business and Finance Exam

This 6 hour and 30 minute, 120 question open book examination covers topics such as Establishing the Contracting Business, Managing Administrative Duties, Managing Trade Operations, Conducting Accounting Functions, Managing Human Resources, and complying with Government Regulations.
